Nick Powell: Wigan sign previous Man Utd midfielder on three-year bargain

Wigan Athletic have marked previous Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell on a three-year contract.

Powell, 22, scored 12 objectives in 41 appearances for Championship side Wigan amid a credit spell in 2013-14. 

He joined United for £3m from Crewe in 2012 and was credited out to Leicester City and Hull City before his agreement lapsed in June. 

"He is the one player we needed this mid year and we are so glad we have him," said Wigan supervisor Gary Caldwell.
