Iwobi scores two for Nigeria as his fine season continues.
Iwobi continues his fine form
Alex Iwobi’s fine season continued for Nigeria on Wednesday as the Super Eagles prepared for their World Cup qualifier against Zambia on Sunday.
The 20-year-old nephew of Nigeria legend Jay Jay Okocha played 71 minutes of Arsenal’s late 1-0 win over Burnley on Sunday.
Since then, Iwobi has joined up with the Nigeria international squad for the key match against Zambia.
Iwobi scores two
On Wednesday, Alex Iwobi played in a friendly between Nigeria and Plateau United which saw coach Gernot Rohr field a second string side of the senior national team in the first half.
A whole host of bigger name players were sent on in the second half including Jon Obi Mikel and Iwobi.
The Arsenal man claimed two goals – one of which has been reported by the Nigerian press as a fine solo goal.

Iwobi took to Instagram to exclaim his delight at claiming the brace.
Arsenal fans, and many others, will rightly point out that England appear to have missed a trick by letting Iwobi play for Nigeria.
